Propane FAQs

Propane is a fuel that is a byproduct of natural gas processing and oil refining. It’s a gas that’s compressed into liquid form for easy storage and is converted back into gas when burned.

We suggest ordering propane when your tank gauge reads 30% to avoid the risk of an emergency runout, or eliminating this concern by enrolling in automatic delivery services.

How long a propane lasts depends on several factors, including:

  • The size of the tank
  • How often you use propane
  • What you use it for

The best way to understand your propane habits is by having a tank monitor installed, which tracks your levels in real time and provides data to your propane provider.

Our AutoFill program is our automatic propane delivery program. We install tank monitors on every AutoFill customer’s tank at no additional charge. These monitors allow us to track your fuel levels and schedule deliveries automatically based on your actual usage and weather conditions.

AutoFill helps ensure consistent supply, fewer emergency deliveries, and more peace of mind throughout the year.

Check your thermostat, breakers, and propane tank gauge first. If you’re out of fuel, call us at (743) 856-2655 to schedule a delivery. For furnace or boiler issues, contact a trusted HVAC technician.

If you suspect a gas leak, immediately leave the area and call L.A. Bexten at (743) 856-2655, your local fire department, or 911. See our Propane Safety page for complete instructions.

Generator FAQs

Portable generators are smaller, manually set up, and typically only power a few appliances using extension cords. Home standby generators are connected to your fuel supply and turn on automatically during an outage or power selected circuits or your whole home.

The right generator size depends on what you want to power during an outage. We can schedule a free estimate with you to determine the proper system based on your electrical load, essential equipment, and comfort needs.
